Step by Step Guide to get Forge, LiteLoader, Voxel Map, Optifine and the Shaders Mod running on your PC!
Suggestion: I suggest you to delete everything Minecraft related on your PC before you start. Fresh install is always better then a dirty install. The choice is yours in the end!
Make sure if you choose to get the MC Launcher new to start the game at least once before you start all the steps below!
1. Download the following Programs to your PC from the links below.
-->Forge (newest Version) .exe [Installer Win is suggested]
-->LiteLoader (Snapshot) .exe
-->VoxelMap (Ver.1.8) .litemod
-->Optifine (Ver.1.8.0 HD U D1) .jar [IMPORTANT: You have to choose the D1 Version in order for the Shader Mod to work!!!]
-->Shaders Mod (Ver. 1.8) .jar [On this site you will finds some shader Packs futher down below.]
2. Installation
2.1 We start with Forge. Open the Installer, hit ok and let it do it's thing......DONE
2.2 Now LiteLoader. Leave it set to Install LiteLoader BUT select at the EXTEND FROM selection the Forge Profile in the Dropdown menu like shown in the Spoiler below.
Now take the little finger of yours and press OK. DONE
2.3 Start Minecraft, select the LiteLoader 1.8 with Forge... by the way you can delete the other Profiles under Profile Editor... No need for that junk. If you see the Minecraft game Screen everything is cool.....So close that game... no time to play just yet.
2.4 Now navigate to your AppData Directory ( something like -> C:\Users\YOUR_NAME_HERE\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft ).
You see a folder named mods. Just put the VoxelMap-Mod-1.8.litemod in here. [NOT IN THE 1.8 Sub-Folder]DONE
2.5 Stay in that folder but go into the 1.8 folder. Here you paste the OptiFine_1.8.0_HD_U_D1.jar file. DONE
2.6 Now go one Directory back up (in the regular Mod folder where the Voxel Map is located and paste the
ShadersMod-v2.4.11mc1.8.jar file. DONE
2.7 Now you can pop in your custom shaders packs. Just paste them into C:\Users\YOUR_NAME_HERE\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\shaderpacks Now start Minecraft, add some more Memory by typing -Xmx2G if you got 4GB RAM, -Xmx4G if you got 8GB RAM etc..... I have 16GB so i use -Xmx10G. Never allow full Memory access. DONE
2.8 ImGame go to Option->Shaders and select your desired Shader.....DONE!!!
2.9 Now do your game graphics configurations and have fun with your new graphics.
Extra Optimization:
Make sure that your MC Profile(Edit Profile->Java
Settings) Executable is checked and the path is linked directly to your Java.exe otherwise its runs thru the AppData directory what takes more resources, + if you run a 64Bit System make sure to kick the x86 Java of the PC and only install the 64Bit Version, then set it up that MC uses it by pasting:
C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_45\bin\javaw.exe
into the now checked Executable Parameter Path.
